Pharaoh in his stubbornness and rebellion against the wishes of God, has chosen a very hard path for the people of Egypt. The final plague that God will send is by far the worst. The land will recover from the first nine plagues, but the tenth involves the loss of thousands of firstborn children, from the Pharaoh himself, down to the children of the servants. God also will cause the death of every firstborn animal of all the flocks and herds. (Ex. 11:4-5)
What a terrible tole this will take on the Egyptian people. God says in Exodus 11:6 "Then there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as was not like it before, nor shall be like it again." (Ex.11:6)

Not only did Pharaoh end up letting God's people go free to worship and serve their Lord, but the Egyptian people had so much respect for Moses and the children of Israel that they gave them clothing, gold, silver, brass, flocks and herds and everything else they needed to fulfill God's plan for their journey. (Ex. 12:35-36)

We will be able to see later in the book of Exodus, exactly how God has already provided exactly what would be needed by his children to be able to build a place of sanctuary and worship for themselves in the wilderness. They would need the gold, silver, bronze and other materials that were provided by the Egyptians to be able to follow the precise instructions of God in the building of the tabernacle. The tabernacle will provide a place for the restoration of their fellowship with God throughout their long journey in the wilderness.
